I have recently sold my accounting practice after 29 years as a public practitioner.
As a Certified General Accountant and Certified Financial Planner I advised many corporations how to resolve and plan for complex tax and financial issues and comply with various tax, accounting and financial requirements.
In addition I was involved with contract negotiations and strategic planning. With certain corporations I was involved at the inception, the growth and the eventual sale of the corporation. My education, knowledge, professionalism and many years of accounting and financial planning experience, budgeting experience and risk management experience will be an asset to a board of directors.
I have been a board member for 5 years of the Certified General Accountants, Hamilton Chapter and I am a recepient of their Distinguished Service Award.
I am the former Treasurer of St Marys Anglican Church. I have served on the Public Practice Committee for the Certified General Accountants of Ontario.
I am the Past President and served for many years as the Accountant of the Rosedale Bartonville Business Association. I have developed and presented to accountants and the public seminars on various topics including taxation and financial planning.
My 30 plus years in business, public accounting, financial planning and business advisory services gives me the requisite experience, knowledge, professionalism and qualifications to be an integral board of director and audit committee member. I am entrepreneurial, a financial and business advisor, think strategically, ethically and independently, am an experienced negotiator and deal maker, have well-developed communication and teamwork skills and will be able to work effectively with fellow directors and management. I recently completed the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Board Effectiveness Program at Rotman School of Management.
